We're suffering one of the worst cold and flu
seasons in years. Don't forget about the wonderful therapeutic benefits
essential oils can provide. The herb lemongrass is a traditional ingredient in soup used against coughs and
colds; we like our Lemongrass Essential Oil [Prima Fleur No. 145] for wiping countertops
and handles (use a drop on a damp cloth). For inhalation and massage, Eucalyptus Radiata
Essential Oil [No. 216] may help improve respiratory conditions
such as cold, flu, sinus infection, and bronchitis. Wild Saro oil, also known
as Mandravasarotra
Essential Oil [No. 376], is uplifting with herbaceous, lemony, and
fruity notes. It helps infectious states and is fabulous for inhalation for
sinusitis, rhinitis, and asthma. In Malagasy, mandravasarotra means "what keeps evil
away." Ravintsara Essential Oil [No. 163] is well known as both a
defender against winter maladies and a soothing detoxifier at the end of a bout
of flu or cold. Use it in diffusers, baths, chest rubs, and room sprays.

Prima Fleur CO2 Extract: USNEA BARBATA LICHEN
Usnea [Prima Fleur No. 516] is a CO2
from Germany with a very interesting wood and veggie odor that is used in
blending and products. It has been used medicinally for at least 1000 years.
Usnic acid (C18H16O7), a potent antibiotic and antifungal agent, is found in most
species. This, combined with the hairlike structure of the lichen, is why Usnea
was historically used to treat surface wounds when sterile gauze and modern
antibiotics were unavailable.
High
in vitamin C, Usnea is edible. In modern American herbal medicine, it is
primarily used for lung and upper respiratory tract infections, and urinary
tract infections.
CO2 is a Carbon Dioxide extraction, either "select" or "total." It is a natural, environmentally sound form of extraction that yields the highest therapeutic quality. Click here for more information on this extraction process.

Prima Fleur Essential Oils: ROSEMARY from Morocco
When our latest shipment of wild Moroccan Rosemary, cineole variety, arrived, we opened it and at once the air was perfumed with the fresh, purifying, expansive, and perfectly delicious aroma. Distilled from the flowering tops of plants growing wild near Meknes, it is the variety preferred for respiratory blends. Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) leaf oil variety 1.8 Cineole [Prima Fleur No. 203] is distilled from plants abundant in sunny North Africa bordering the Mediterranean. The oil is clear in color, with a strong, expansive scent, a characteristic indication of its high percentage of cineole (typically around 40%). It is quite likely the featured oil in a famous old-world remedy, the Four Thieves Vinegar, which was purported to prevent epidemics. Cineole rosemary blends well with many other essential oils and is particularly beneficial used in massage oils for the body. It is used more often for sinus and respiratory symptoms than for skin care. It is said to be anti-depressant, fortifying, and uplifting.See our other Rosemary essential oils: Corsican Rosemary verbenone [Prima Fleur Nos. 114, 345, 508]. The CO2 Rosemary verbenone and our California-grown and distilled certified organic Rosemary Hydrosol [Nos. 719 and 729] are perfect for mid-life phyto-tonics as well as sluggish, congested skin and teen-problematic skin conditions.
