Prima Fleur Essential Oil: PATCHOULI
Sourced from Sumatra, the
scent of Prima Fleur Patchouli Essential Oil [No. 173] is said to help relieve depression
and anxiety. The oil has diuretic properties and helps diminish the appearance
of cellulite, strengthening the supporting cellular network of the skin. By
stimulating the regeneration of skin cells, it is useful to speed up healing and prevent ugly scars from forming when wounds heal. Patchouli essential oil could be added to Prima Fleur Premier Products like our unscented Nourishing Body Emulsion [No. 1001], Shea Butter Body Lotion [No. 1061], and our Cleansing & Softening Bath Soak Powder [No. 1103], among many others!

Prima Fleur Carrier Oil: FORAHA
Prima Fleur Foraha
Oil [No. 401] Calophyllum inophyllum is cold-pressed in
Madagascar. It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-neuralgic
properties, having been used in the South Pacific as a traditional remedy for nerve symptoms of leprosy, where the tree is known as Tamanu. The oil is thick and luxurious and absorbs readily into the skin. It is opaque and brownish green with a vegetative,
herbal odor. The botanical name comes from kalos, the Greek word for beautiful, and phullon, which signifies leaf. The oil resulting from this so-named "beautiful leaf" tree was used by women as face cream in Polynesia, but its benefits have been proven as well by contemporary research, according to the book The Healing Trail: Essential Oils of Madagascar. Missionaries to the Fijian Islands in the 1920s discovered that the oil relieved the painful nerve swelling of leprosy. French doctors later confirmed its success as a treatment for cuts, burns, and wounds, all traditional uses in the areas where it is grown. Additional medical research has uncovered potential benefits of compounds in the oil for diseases as serious as cancer and HIV.
To create the oil, fruit is collected after it falls from the trees in December. The nutlike seeds are removed and placed on racks to dry for a month or two, at which point they wrinkle and darken, becoming sticky with oil. At this time they are ready for the cold press extraction. The tree also grows in other parts of Eastern Africa and in India and Southeast Asia.

Prima Fleur Ingredient: ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe Vera Gel is one of the oldest medicinal plants known to science, and its remarkable healing abilities are due to its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. As a natural oxygenator that can draw and hold oxygen to the skin, Aloe is considered one of the most effective cellular renewal ingredients for use in skin care.
Aloe is about 96% water and the remaining portion contains active ingredients including essential oil, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes, and glycoproteins. It has a composition similar to that of human blood plasma and seawater, and is extremely soothing and protective because its pH is the same as human skin. Prima Fleur uses only certified pure, whole leaf Aloe Vera, extracted by a patented process in the United States.
